A group of 22 Tax Advisers and friends gathered for a guided tour of this wonderful church in the early evening of 22 November, the feast day of St Cecilia, with the darkness of the night falling making this a most atmospheric visit. Sir john Betjeman considered the church to have the finest surviving Norman interior in London and given the size of the surviving pillars and the beautiful clerestory it is easy to concur. …read more

St Cecilia Service

On Wednesday 23 November, the Master, Clerk and other members of the company attended The St Cecilia Service: A Celebration of Music at Westminster Abbey. The Festival is a Help Musicians UK annual event and has been held every year since 1946. It rotates between St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and Westminster Cathedral, and the music is sung by the combined choirs of the three churches. WcoTA Visit to the London Transport Museum at Acton

On an unseasonably warm and sunny October day an intrepid group of us joined the Master (Kevin Thomas)  on a trip beyond the West End to the outpost of the London Transport Museum at Acton for a private tour. After an introduction to the collection which comprises the bulk of the Museum's holdings and serves as a store, with access to workshops to restore and repair items, we were split into two groups and toured both the main store and the small objects collection. …read more
