FSG Lecture

On Wednesday 20 September, the Master was accompanied by Past Master Godbee to the inaugural Financial Services Group lecture.

The lecturer entitled London Forever ! – Reality or Rhetoric? was given by Alderman Professor Michael Mainelli. He drew on decades of research into the mapping, modelling and economics of cities, along with empirical data to challenge some of the conventional assumptions about how cities form and grow. On Tuesday 5 September, a small group of members attended the Architectural Walk of the Barbican.

Army Cadet Force Camp

On Sunday 20 August, the Master and Clerk were guests of the London North East Sector Army Cadet Force at their summer camp. The annual camp this year was held at Shrewton, Wilshire and was attended by around 260 cadets and 100 instructors. During the day we entertained to displays of drill, shooting, motor cycling and outdoor team building and leadership skills. The day finished with a tug of war completion and prize giving. The Master was very pleased to present  an award to the best cadet at camp and also another to the cadet appointed as the Lord Lieutenant’s cadet. …link
