Guildable Manor Court Leet

The Deputy Master and the Middle Warden attended the Court Leet and View of Frankpledge ceremony of the Guildable Manor in the Church of St George the Martyr, Southwark, held after a Luncheon Feast at which the High Bailiff, Adam Rout was the principal guest. The ceremony involves the installation of the Foreman and officers for the coming year, and the High Steward, HHJ Nicholas Hilliard QC gave the address at the ceremony.  Past Master Tax Adviser and Former Lord Mayor of the City of London, Ian Luder, was Foreman of the Guildable Manor of Southwark in 2014 - 2015. …read more

Weekend Walk - November 2018

Members of the Company and their families, ten in all, and even a dog, enjoyed a pleasant walk from Wimbledon Park, across Wimbledon Common, and then Richmond Park, before reaching Richmond itself, and heading off home by train, tube, and bus, on Sunday, 25 November. …read more

Musicians' Company Evensong

The Musicians Company holds an annual Evensong at St Paul's Cathedral at which most Livery Companies process, resplendent in their Company gowns. This year over 70 Livery Companies participated and the procession representing the Tax Advisers consisted of the Deputy Master, the Renter Warden and the Clerk. …read more

Admission of Sheriffs

Each year, on Michaelmas Eve, the two new Sheriffs of the City of London are admitted to their office at Guildhall in one of the traditional ceremonies of the City of London. Typically the Sheriffs are elected on Midsummer Day, 24th June, and their Admission precedes the election of the Lord Mayor at Common Hall on Michaelmas Day. …read more

Magical Taxi Tour

The Master and Clerk attended the Big Breakfast and Magical Taxi Tour send off organised by the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers taking terminally ill children to Disneyland Paris for a very special weekend. The Taxi Advisers sponsor a taxi, as do many other Livery Companies. The Lord Mayor and Sheriffs were also in attendance for the send off. …read more

National Army Museum

The Master and Deputy Master attended a Livery Reception at the National Army Museum show-casing the fabulous new refurbished galleries that have been opened recently with support from a number of Livery Companies. The Museum is well worth a visit. As well as an address by the director, Justin Maciejewski DSO, MBE,  we also had the opportunity to visit the Special Forces: In the Shadows exhibition which is currently showing, with a tour by the curator. Each year the Worshipful Company of Plumbers and the Worshipful Company of Constructors take it in turn to host the Annual City of London Churches Walk, taking in 10 or so of the City's fabulous Wren churches with a guide from the Friends of the City Churches.
