Lord Mayor’s Mansion House Banquet
On Thursday 30 March the Master attended the annual Lord Mayor’s Banquet for Livery Masters.
The Banquet is one of the 6 state banquets the Lord Mayor holds at Mansion House in the glorious setting of the Egyptian Rom. It was a capacity dinner attended by around 300 Masters and guests.
The evening started with a stair guard from City's Musketeers and Pikemen followed by an introduction to the Lord Mayor, a nod to the sheriffs and a champagne reception. We dined on cured salmon, beef fillet and chocolate and pear mousse with excellent wines. During the meal, the Band of the Royal Yeomanry played from the gallery. The Lord Mayor gave an excellent speech followed by the Master Mercer and Master Grocer.
