Band of the Royal Yeomanry

The Master and Consort attended a concert given by the Band of the Royal Yeomanry in Guildhall Yard, which was introduced by Wendy Mead, the Immediate Past Chief Commoner. The Band played a selection of military marches, film scores, and classical and light music. The Yeomanry has its origins in the cavalry regiments, so all band members wore spurs and chain mail epaulettes, which were designed to protect against sword blows landing on the shoulder.   A number of other Livery Masters were in attendance.  Perfect for a Summer's evening!
